On a private page on social media there was a competition on who could make the next logo for “Witches and Heathens”. My mother decided that it would be beneficial for me to try and create a logo for the group. I reached out to the admin of the group to receive more details on the project — these three logos are what I came up with. Logo 1 shows more community on what the page represents to its members. Logo 2 was more of a “fun spin” on what witches are. And for Logo 3 I incorporated both a woman’s and a man’s hand to show that witches are inclusive, and the moon represents the goddess. After voting within comments for a few days, LOGO 3 was used for stickers for the upcoming Pagan Pride 2019.
My Grandmother wrote a book called “The Crows Adventure”. She has been writing this children’s book for a while now to make it a perfect and readable book. She came to me during a holiday and asked me to illustrate her book before she published it. At first, I wasn’t sure, however, I took it as a challenge to bring me into using Illustrator more. For about a couple weeks I researched what were the specs of children’s books — how many pages? how many words per page? what color is eye catching towards specific ages? etc. After that I created the illustrations based off my grandmothers’ written book, as a gift I printed everything and gave them to her for her birthday. And she loved it. Come to find out she will and is in the process of getting the book published with my illustrations. It will be the first time that something I’ve crated has my name on it and will be distributed, so I am very happy 🙂
My Aunt, my mother’s sister, came into contact with me about an idea for creating a logo for her Consulting Firm she is in the process of developing. Her main goal is to create a family legacy within the future businesses she wants to pursue. CABOT Business Consulting is her first company and she wanted to create an identity for it. Through communication over phone calls, texts and emails, I have created what you see above. MY goal for the logo was to show an increase in business — the color choice of blue portrays a sense of calm and technology. Having calm colors used for stressful things can give clients a sense of comfort in the business to help them make better decisions, especially business decisions. The choice of bold text spaced out gives the logo a sense of spacing and structure. Almost like it is a seat for the image. For the image itself, I wanted to play around with colors to see if the logo should be 1 color or multicolored. After a while I decided that the logo looked better multicolored, with a little help from social media as well. I also had to change the typography that was used because after some time the text originally used was no longer under illustrator — so I used Arial as the typeface in the FINAL LOGO.
